About

Psychologist. Founder of The Offline Lab.

For years I've written about knowledge workers who can't rest. The script was always the same: brilliant, exhausted, and convinced their inability to focus was a personal flaw.

It isn't. The architecture of the modern workday — its notifications, its meetings, its always-on norms — is in active conflict with what we know about how rest and recovery actually work.

So I built The Offline Lab: live research into what actually happens when the phone leaves an ordinary life. Not a retreat, not a cabin — someone's own home, their own week, minus the device.

I bring that work into companies and organizations of every kind as talks, workshops, and a one-time offline experience — where the devices leave the room and the team finds out how that feels before we ever discuss the science.
